Shutdown Procedure for MUTOH Printers

 

Eco-solvent printers CMYK only [VJ-1204 up to VJ-2638 and XPJ series], this also applies to Water Based printers

Leave the printer on at all times but do the following:

1. Perform required daily maintenance before setting the printer to Sleep Mode

2. Make sure there is enough ink on the cartridges (220 ml for every 2 weeks of idle time)

3. Empty the waste ink tank, the printer will not perform any cleaning cycle if the tank is full

 

Eco-solvent printers with White and Metallic ink [VJ-628X VJ-1628X]

When using metallic ink and white ink for VJ-628X / VJ-1628X, make sure that the power is always turned on. When you are not using the printer, always leave the power on and put the printer into sleep mode. If you do not put the printer into sleep mode, the ink in its interior could settle out and/or coagulate, causing poor image quality or printer failure

 

Do the same as above but the maximum unattended period will be 1 week at a time

1. White and metallic inks must be shaken a least once within this week

2. Longstore must be performed if the printer will be idle and unattended for more than 1 week

3. On VJ-628X, Longstore is performed through VSM (Remote Panel) Printer Control. Ink charge upon the next power-up will also be through the VSM program. Please contact your dealer if further assistance will be required for this procedure.

4. On VJ-1628X, Longstore is performed through User Settings (Set 19) and then following the prompts on the control panel step by step thereafter. The ink charge cycle will be entered automatically upon the next power-up and can be accomplished by following the instructions on the printer’s control panel. 

 

UV Printers [VJ-426UF to VJ-1638UH/VJ-1638UR and XPJ series] most importantly with White ink

Use the printer with its power turned permanently on. When you are not using the printer, always leave the power on and put the printer into sleep mode. In sleep mode, the printer will periodically circulate the ink in its interior and carry out head cleaning automatically. If you do not put the printer into sleep mode, the ink in its interior could settle out and/or coagulate, causing poor image quality or printer failure.

 

Shake the ink cartridge before use. Shake the ink cartridges periodically. Otherwise, the ink inside the cartridges settles or coagulates and may cause poor print quality or a malfunction.

1. All ink cartridges must be shaken a least once within this week

2. Longstore must be performed if the printer will be idle and unattended for more than 1 week

3. Longstore can only be accessed through the printer’s Self Diagnosis Mode and will require a service technician’s intervention.
